ST. THOMAS — A violent altercation at a local bar has prompted an investigation by the V.I. Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau, seeking public assistance to clarify the circumstances that led to the incident.

The conflict, involving two Hispanic females, occurred late Wednesday evening at La Clave Bar located on Kronprindsens Gade. Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 11:39 p.m. following reports of the assault.

Initial investigations suggest that what started as a physical confrontation between the two women quickly escalated, involving the use of beer bottles and pool sticks as weapons. This brawl resulted in one of the women sustaining a significant laceration to her left eyelid. Despite the severity of the injuries reported, both parties declined medical treatment offered by Emergency Medical Technicians at the scene.

The VIPD said it is actively seeking witnesses and any individuals with knowledge about the events that transpired. Community members who have information are encouraged to come forward and assist in the investigation.
