ST. THOMAS — Stevie Michael Brown, 53, was arrested on May 8, 2024, in connection with a grand larceny investigation involving embezzlement at Home Depot. The investigation was initiated on January 26, 2024, after a complaint was filed by the home improvement retailer.

According to the Economic Crime Unit (ECU), a former Home Depot employee allowed individuals to leave the store with unpaid merchandise. During the investigation, Brown was identified as one of the beneficiaries, having received unpaid merchandise valued at over $1,000.

On January 29, 2024, Brown was interviewed and admitted to paying only $40 for the merchandise. On May 8, he surrendered to ECU Detectives at the Richard N. Callwood Command and was placed under arrest for grand larceny (aiding and abetting), buying, receiving or possessing stolen property, and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Brown’s bail was set at $20,000, and he was processed and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections. He is scheduled for an Advice of Rights hearing at the Superior Court on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Earlier this week, Larry Webbe was arrested on similar charges. According to the VIPD, Webbe admitted to receiving merchandise valued at over one thousand dollars while only paying $28.93, following collusion with a former Home Depot employee who allowed customers to leave the store with unpaid items.
