ST. CROIX – V.I. Police Department officers took swift action on Thursday, arresting Teddy Vanhorn in connection with a distressing domestic violence incident.
According to the VIPD, the arrest came after an alarming report reached the Criminal Investigation Bureau on Thursday at approximately 12:10 p.m., prompting immediate intervention at Juan F. Luis Hospital.
According to the police report, the victim, who had been in a relationship with Vanhorn for two months, recounted a harrowing experience. She alleged that she was brutally assaulted by Vanhorn, who reportedly woke her by stomping on her face and neck, physically assaulting her, and strangling her until she lost consciousness. As a result of this traumatic ordeal, the victim sustained injuries to her nose, neck, and fingers.
Following the incident, Vanhorn was taken into custody and Mirandized by law enforcement officers. However, he declined to provide a statement regarding the events in question. Subsequently, Vanhorn was booked and transported to the John A. Bell Correctional Facility, where he awaits an advised-of-rights hearing.
Vanhorn now faces serious charges, including second-degree assault domestic violence, with no bail set in this matter.
