ST. THOMAS – The V.I. Police Department has announced that it is investigating a third-degree assault that occurred late Saturday night at the Carnival Village inside Fort Christian Parking Lot. The incident took place near the V.I. Legislature bus stop, according to the 911 Emergency Call Center.
The male victim was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center (SRMC) for evaluation and treatment following the assault, according to the police department. Upon meeting with investigators at the SRMC, the victim reported being approached and assaulted by an acquaintance inside the Carnival Village. After being stabbed, he walked outside to the bus stop and notified a nearby police officer.
The victim sustained three puncture wounds from the attack, with one to the left chest area and two to the stomach, the VIPD said.
