ST. THOMAS — A 62-year-old woman from St. Thomas was arrested Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a female victim, police spokesman Toby Derima has announced.
According to the news release, today at around 9:19 a.m., police arrested Aretha Defoe of Anna’s Retreat and charged her with third-degree assault.
Mr. Derima said Defoe reportedly assaulted a female after an argument on December 7, in the area of Simmonds Alley. The injured victim was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center via ambulance for treatment, according to the release.
Unable to make bail of $25,000, Defoe was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advisement hearing.
