54-Year-Old Man Found Shot to Death in Scott Free Area of St. Thomas

Police say a concerned citizen called 911 shortly after 8:17 a.m. Thursday reporting a man bleeding on the roadway; officers discovered the unresponsive victim, later identified as 54-year-old Saint Hubert Joseph.

54-Year-Old Man Found Shot to Death in Scott Free Area of St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — A 54-year-old man was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds Thursday morning in the Scott Free area of St. Thomas, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police said that at approximately 8:17 a.m. on February 12, a concerned citizen contacted 911 to report that a male was lying on the roadway and bleeding from his upper body in Scott Free. Responding law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and discovered an unresponsive male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Technicians also responded and determined that the male did not have any vital signs.

Next of kin later identified the victim as 54-year-old Saint Hubert Joseph.

The case is being investigated as a homicide.

The VIPD is urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the department at 340-774-2211 or the Major Crimes Unit at 340-642-8449 (WhatsApp). Individuals may also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or call 911. The investigation remains ongoing.
