21-Year-Old Charged with Double Murder in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with the gun-related deaths of two men in St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department has announced.

The incident occurred on Monday, February 20 when several citizens reported shots fired in the area of Norre Gade, St. Thomas in the vicinity of the Lutheran Church.

Upon arrival, the responding police units found one black male slumped over in the passenger seat of a dark-colored SUV. Emergency Medical Technicians pronounced him dead at the scene, and he was later identified as 21-year-old Jequan George.

Two other males arrived at the Schneider Regional Medical Center’s emergency room with gunshot wounds. However, one of the males later succumbed to his injuries, and he was identified by next of kin as 21-year-old Taheem Monsanto.

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, an arrest warrant was issued for Ky-Mani Dolphin by a V.I. Superior Court Magistrate judge.

On Wednesday, March 29, 21-year-old Ky-Mani Dolphin was arrested and charged with homicide, first-degree murder, second-degree murder, using a firearm during the commission of a first-degree murder, using a firearm during the commission of a second-degree murder, and unauthorized possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of Violence in connection to the incident that occurred on February 20, 2023.

Unable to post bail of $750,000, Dolphin was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections to await his advice of rights hearing.
