David Hamilton Jackson Terrace
ST. CROIX -- A man died in the D. Hamilton Jackson Housing Community on Thursday night, after being shot multiple times about the body, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Friday.
According to Mr. Dratte, at approximately 10:22 p.m. Thursday, an officer on patrol reported discharging of multiple shots in the housing community. Officers descended on the scene and were led to the victim's destination by information provided to the 911 emergency call center, after multiple persons called the service in reference to the incident.
Upon arrival to the location, the officers made contact with an unresponsive male, who was pronounced dead by emergency medical technicians and medical staff on the scene, according to Mr. Dratte. The V.I.P.D. is withholding the slain victim's identity pending next of kin notification.
Police were canvassing the area for leads, according to Mr. Dratte.
