TRINIDAD — A Canadian man vacationing in Trinidad along with his Trinidadian niece and nephew were viciously murdered, according to local reports.

Trinidad police say that Randy Chuniesingh from Orangeville, Ontario Canada, along with his niece, Polly Ann Chuniesingh, 31, and nephew Damian Chuniesingh, 39, were found tied and their throats slit.

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the brutal crime that occurred in the town of Arima, The Trinidad and Tobago Guardian reported.

Randy Chuniesingh was on vacation for Christmas at the time he was murdered.

Investigators said that cash and jewelry were missing from the crime scene, according to the Toronto Sun.

Charged is Nathaniel Ellis who reportedly lived near the Chuniesingh home. He was arrested just two days after the slayings but police only released his name on Tuesday, Jan. 6.

Trinidad police say that Polly had been involved in a domestic situation with a violent man. It wasn’t clear whether that man was Ellis, according to the Sun.
