World Health Organization Declares Coronavirus a Pandemic

The World Health Organization has declared the novel coronavirus, called Covid-19, a pandemic.

The declaration was made by WHO's Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO.

The U.S. has reported more than 1,200 infections. And Germany's leader said the virus is expected to infect up to 70 percent of Germans.

US suspends travel from Europe: President Trump canceled travel from 26 European countries to the US for the next 30 days, beginning Friday at midnight.

 

Latest numbers: According to the World Health Organization, the novel coronavirus has infected more than 118,000 people and killed close to 4,300 worldwide.
