ST. CROIX — The latest coronavirus case was confirmed on St. Croix on Saturday, according to an infographic released by the V.I. Department of Health.

The new case represents the first after a long stretch of negative results, and as the Bryan administration implements its "Open Doors" policy, which makes way for leisure travelers to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands, and allows restaurants and bars to accept up to 50 customers who are not required to wear masks while at the establishments.

So far 1,814 people have been tested, with 1,728 tests returning negative, 70 positive and 16 pending as of Saturday. There have been 6 deaths in the USVI and one individual is currently on a ventilator at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, according to the Dept. of Health.
