Government agencies are putting into place a fully automated grants management program that will streamline the grants search, application and monitoring process, Office of Management of Budget Director Jenifer O’Neal and Gov. Albert Bryan announced on Monday.

The program — call eCivis — is expected to reduce the red-tape traditionally associated with the grants management process, according to a prepared statement from Government House. eCivis automates grants management through the full life cycle of a grant, from solicitation to expenditure. It will be used by every agency and department, eventually including the semi-autonomous government entities.

Officials will use the grant management system to search and apply for grants, report on grants and review proposals for solicitations. The government will be able to manage grant sub-recipients through an eCivis portal, as well.

The system enables data collection, analysis and reporting on successful applications, grant dollars received, missed funding opportunities, and compile data on awards, sub-recipients and grant matching. The program also provides cost allocation functions and other professional services associated with grant management, according to the release.

The release said government employees were trained on use of the program by eCivis staff. The system went live on March 9th.
