V.I. Dept. of Health Commissioner Justa Encarnacion announced Monday that distribution of the $250 gift card incentive for vaccinated people will begin next Tuesday.
She said D.O.H. will distribute up to 9,999 $250 gift cards for residents that meet the criteria. Eligible persons would have received one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine or two doses of the two-dose vaccines (Moderna or Pfizer) between August 9, 2021 and September 30, 2021.
Eligible persons can pick up their $250 Vaccine Incentive Gift Cards at the Community Vaccination Centers located on St. Croix at the Nissan Center in La Grande Princesse, on St. Thomas at the Community Health Clinic on the 2nd floor of the Schneider Regional Medical Center, and at the Morris de Castro Clinic on St. John.
Distribution will begin next Tuesday, September 28, and continue Monday through Friday October 31, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, according to the commissioner.
Ms. Encarnacion said, “Please bring your vaccination card or electronic vaccine confirmation and a valid government-issued picture ID to collect your card.”
She said more news on the incentive would be forthcoming.

As of Monday there were 220 active cases territory-wide: 158 on St. Croix, 58 on St. Thomas and 4 on St. John. There were 5 people hospitalizations at the Juan F. Luis Hospital and none at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
