The Walt Disney Company announced Monday the cancelation of all Disney Cruse Line sailings through January 31, a move the company says is necessary as it puts in place Covid-19 safety measures ahead of cruise travel resumption.

The company said cruise ship sailings have been canceled for the Disney Dream, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder through Feb. 1, and the Disney Fantasy through Feb. 6 (via MarketScreener).

The announcement from Disney came on the same day that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued its starkest warning against cruise travel yet, stating that "all people" should avoid cruise ships, and that those who do choose to embark on a cruise voyage take strict precautionary measures.  "Even if you test negative, stay home for the full 7 days," the CDC recommended. "If you don't get tested, it's safest to stay home for 14 days after you travel."

Disney Cruise Line guests with fully-paid reservations affected by the changes will be offered a credit for a future sailing or a full refund, the company said. According to MarketScreener, guests who haven't fully paid their reservation will get an automatic refund, and all affected guests were expected to receive a message from Disney with full details on the cancelation of voyages and how the company intends to reimburse guests.

Disney Cruise Line ships make regular stops to the USVI.
