The V.I. Department of Health reported 7 new cases of Covid-19 in the territory between Monday and Wednesday, while listing 1,119 people as recovered. D.O.H. did not provide data on Tuesday due to what it said was downtime for database maintenance.
And the department's latest total case count between Monday and Wednesday: from 1,191 to 1,197 does not correspond with the count per district for new cases. For example, if we're going by the total number of cases from Monday to Wednesday, that number is 6. However, D.O.H.'s count per island gives a total of 7: 1 on St. Croix, and 6 in St Thomas. St. John actually went from a total of 44 positive cases to 43, which means at least one individual was incorrectly diagnosed as having the disease. See data here.
D.O.H. said that to date, 17,887 people have been tested, with 16,668 returning negative. The department is tracking 60 actives cases: 6 on St. Croix, 52 on St. Thomas and 2 on St. John
A total of 18 individuals have died territory-wide: 11 on St. Thomas, 6 on St. Croix and 1 on St. John.
