Dept. of Health Announces 7 New Covid-19 Cases Territory-Wide

Four new Covid-19 cases on St. Croix and 3 in St. Thomas have taken the total number of confirmed cases in the territory to 304, of which 163 remain active.

The V.I. Dept. of Health's latest infographic, through which the new cases were confirmed, says there were 51 test results pending: 48 in St. Thomas and 3 in St. John. There were no pending test results on St. Croix according to D.O.H., however, the Consortium know people on St. Croix who have tested for the virus and had yet to receive their results as of Sunday.

So far 6,972 tests have been performed, with 6,617 returning negative and 304 positive. Six people have died of the disease in the territory.

The 4 latest cases on St. Croix were transmitted through travel, close contact, community spread and one case was under investigation. 

On St. Thomas, one case was transmitted through close contact and the other two were under investigation. 

No confirmed cases were reported on St. John on Sunday.

Governor Albert Bryan is expected to hold a coronavirus press briefing today at 1:00 p.m.
