Department of Health Announces 21st Covid-19 Related Death in USVI

The V.I. Department of Health has announced the 21st Covid-19 related death in the U.S. Virgin Islands, with the latest victim being a 76-year-old woman from St. Thomas.

"After further investigating cause of death and ensuring notification of next of kin, the Virgin Islands Department of Health is saddened to confirm the territory’s twenty-first death related to COVID-19. The deceased is a 76-year old female on St. Thomas," D.O.H. said.

The department said continues to work to slow the spread of COVID-19. "Please continue to follow these precautionary measures: stay at home, practice social distancing, wear a mask when in company of others outside of those in your household, clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and wash your hands often with soap and warm water," D.O.H. said.

As of Wednesday, there were 15 active Covid-19 cases in the territory, according to D.O.H. Seven of those cases were on St. Thomas, 3 on St. John and 5 on St. Croix.
