Government House said Monday that the V.I. Department of Health has cleared Governor Albert Bryan to come out of quarantine today, April 25 after the governor tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, April 20.
In the statement announcing that the governor had tested positive for the virus last week, the administration said Mr. Bryan would quarantine until April 27, or Wednesday.
However, D.O.H. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tai Hunte-Ceasar said Mr. Bryan, who remained in good health during the quarantine period, has cleared the contagious stage after contracting the virus. He already had been recovering from the virus when he tested positive last week, and he has been asymptomatic for seven days, according the Gov't House.
According to the release, although Mr. Bryan is fully vaccinated and boosted, he has continuously followed the practice of also taking a Covid-19 test upon his return to the territory since the beginning of the pandemic.
