ST. CROIX — A day after announcing the 31st Covid-related death in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the V.I. Dept. of Health has announced the 32nd victim of the virulent disease.
"After further investigating cause of death and ensuring notification of next of kin, the Virgin Islands Department of Health is saddened to confirm the territory’s thirty-second death related to Covid," D.O.H. said in a release Tuesday.
The deceased is a 69-year-old female on St. Croix.
The health department said it continues to work to slow the spread of Covid-19. "Please continue to follow these precautionary measures: practice social distancing, wear a mask when in company of others outside of those in your household, clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and wash your hands often with soap and warm water," the department said.
The territory had 74 active Covid-19 cases as of Monday, 41 on St. Thomas, 32 on St. Croix, and 1 active case on St. John, according to D.O.H.
