20 Covid-19 Cases Reported Over the Weekend in USVI

The V.I. Department of Health over the weekend reported 20 new Covid-19 cases territory-wide as infections fluctuate but remain lower than previous highs

On Friday, the department reported 10 cases territory-wide: 3 on St. Croix, 1 on St. John and 6 on St. Thomas.

On Saturday, D.O.H. reported 9 cases territory-wide: 1 on St. Croix and the remaining 8 on St. Thomas. The single case reported Sunday was on St. Thomas.

Five of the combined 15 cases in St. Thomas over the weekend were transmitted through community spread, while 9 were close contact infections. Only one case was attributed to travel.

On St. Croix, two cases were spread through community transmission while the two others were under investigation.

The Dept. of Health was tracking 58 active cases as of Sunday, with a total of 1,144 recoveries and 19 fatalities. Of the 58 active cases being tracked, 6 were on St. Croix, 50 on St. Thomas and 2 on St. John.
