14 New Covid-19 Cases Bring USVI Total to 167; D.O.H. Tracking 69 Actives

St. Croix recorded 11 new Covid-19 cases on Friday night, while St. Thomas infections were up by 3, leading to 14 new cases announced by the Dept. of Health for a territorial total of 167. According to the department, 92 individuals had recovered as of Friday night, and 69 cases remained active, up from Thursday's total of 60.

The details were provided in D.O.H.'s latest infographic, which showed for St. Croix close contact infections up by 3, travel by 1, and 7 cases under investigation.

For St. Thomas, one case was travel related while the other two were close contact transmissions. St. John remained unchanged with 6 confirmed cases.

As of Friday, 3,865 tests were performed, of which 3,640 returned negative and 167 positive. Governor Albert Bryan said Thursday that two individuals were hospitalized at the Juan F. Luis Hospital, with one individual needing ventilator assistance.
