The V.I. Dept. Health on Thursday announced the 110th death in the territory related to Covid-19.
"After further investigating cause of death and ensuring notification of next of kin, the Virgin Islands Department of Health is saddened to confirm the territory’s one hundred and tenth death related to Covid-19. The deceased is a 77-year-old male on St. Croix," D.O.H. said via release.
The health department said it continues to work to slow the spread of the coronavirus. "Please continue to follow these precautionary measures: practice social distancing, wear a mask when in company of others outside of those in your household, clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and wash your hands often with soap and warm water," D.O.H. said.
Most of the territory's Covid-19-induced restrictions have been abandoned, with Governor Albert Bryan on Monday announcing the lifting of the indoor mask mandate, except for schools, health facilities, nursing homes and ports of entry.
The governor told the Consortium Sunday that the USVI Travel Portal would remain active until at least June.
