The V.I. Department of Health reported 10 new cases of the coronavirus on St. Thomas, 1 on St. John and 3 on St. Croix on Thursday, as cases on the Big Island — as St. Croix is called — continue to see steep decline following recent surges because of mass testing at the Lime Tree Bay Terminal and Refinery.
Confirmed cases from Wednesday to Thursday on St. Croix grew from 166 to 169, with 87 active and 79 recovered. On St. Thomas, cases grew from 74 to 84 with 38 active and 44 recovered. And on St. John, cases grew from 9 to 10.
To date, 6,165 tests have been conducted, with 5,790 negatives and 263 positives. D.O.H. said 131 cases remain active while 126 individuals have recovered.
There have been six deaths territory-wide. Governor Albert Bryan said today that a patient was at the Juan F. Luis Hospital, and another at the Schneider Regional Medical Center as of Thursday afternoon.
The governor left protocols unchanged during his coronavirus press briefing today.

A previous version of this story, because of a text error, included 13 cases of Covid-19 in St. Thomas for Thursday in the body of the story (the title was correct), when the actual number is 10. The story has been updated to reflect the correct information.
