The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it restored 930 customers on Friday, bringing the territory-wide restoration percentage to 60. That leaves WAPA with 30 percent restoration to go in 8 more days, if it hopes to meet its goal of 90 percent restoration by December 24.
But even with the daunting task of meeting the 90 percent restoration goal -- and linemen are working tirelessly to accomplish this -- WAPA has not altered its projections.

On St. Croix Friday, additional customers were restored in areas including: Upper Love, William’s Delight, Enfield Green, Profit Hills, Profit, Bethlehem, Annas Hope, Union & Mount Washington, Vistar Mar Condos and St. John.
On St. Thomas, some customers were restored in Upper Lindbergh Bay, Crown & Hawk, Hawk Hill, Flag Hill, Caret Bay and Brass View. On Saturday and Sunday, the Crown Bay access road from near the old L’escargot Restaurant to the Cancryn cricket field will be closed to vehicular traffic as crews continue reconstruction and restoration work. Some Subbase businesses were also restored on Friday.
On St. John, customers were restored in Cruz Bay, Enighed, Freeman’s Ground, Carolina, while reconstruction worked continued in Zootenvaal, Catherineberg and Hard Labor.
- The WAPA Customer Service office on St. John will operate on an abbreviated schedule until further notice. The office will open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Due to Internet connectivity challenges, only checks, certified checks and money orders will be accepted as forms of payment. Customers must provide account numbers in order to process all transactions.
Residents are reminded of the need to shut off standby generators when line crews are in your neighborhood restoring electrical service. A standby generator has the potential to back feed electricity to the grid which poses a severe safety risk to restoration crews.
POTABLE WATER SYSTEM
There are five days of emergency water storage on St. Croix, six days on St. John and eight days on St. Thomas.
