World Ocean School announced Friday the launch of its 14th St. Croix season. The organization’s flagship vessel, the National Historic Landmark schooner Roseway, was expected to arrive in Christiansted Harbor Saturday morning, before noon, after its yearly season of Boston-based programming and transit south.

World Ocean School will offer sunset sails aboard Roseway out of Christiansted Harbor, starting on Tuesday, December 15. In addition, this year the organization has added five days of sails from the Frederiksted Pier, daily from December 28 through January 1. All sails will take place from 4-6pm. For more information and a full calendar of sail dates, go here.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, all sails will adhere to firm safety measures, including reduced passenger counts, mask-wearing, and a COVID-19 screening survey administered before boarding, according to the release.

"Roseway has persevered through inclement weather patterns and a global pandemic to arrive in St. Croix this year. World Ocean School is grateful for the support of its community during these challenging times and thrilled to have Roseway  back on the island for another season of sailing and community engagement," stated the release.
