Woman Found Dead With Wounds at Historic Danish Cemetery in Hospital Ground, VIPD Says

ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Police Department is investigating after a 69-year-old woman was found unresponsive with wounds on her body Monday morning at the Historic Danish Cemetery in Hospital Ground.

According to the VIPD, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report from a concerned citizen at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Monday, June 22, that there was a female in the Historic Danish Cemetery with blood around her body.

Law enforcement units responded to the scene and found an unresponsive black female in the cemetery with wounds on her body.

Emergency Medical Technicians who were present concluded that the woman did not have any vital signs.

Next of kin identified her as 69-year-old Philomen Winston.
