Waste Management Announces Operating Schedule for Emancipation and Fourth of July Holidays

As the U.S. Virgin Islands observes both Emancipation Day and Fourth of July holidays, the Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority has announced its operating hours for the coming days.

For Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4, 2023, the following hours of operation will apply:

  • Bovoni Landfill: 6 am - 4 pm
  • Mandahl CC: 6 am - 6 pm
  • St. John Susannaberg TS: 7 am - 12 pm
  • Anguilla Landfill: 7 am - 4 pm
  • Peter’s Rest CC: 6 am - 2 pm

Residents of the island of St. Croix should be aware that there are changes to the regular garbage pick-up schedule due to the holidays, WMA said. For those residing in Estates Diamond, Diamond Ruby, Diamond and Ruby, Ginger Thomas and Sunny Acres, Mary’s Fancy, Old and New Castle Coakley, Strawberry and Strawberry Hill, the regular Tuesday pick-up will be moved to Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

Meanwhile, residents of Estates Rattan (South), Sion Farm, Sion Hill, Tan Tan Terrace, Anna’s Hope, and Constitution Hill should note that their regular Wednesday pick-up will be moved to Thursday, July 6, 2023.

As the community gears up to celebrate these significant days in the U.S. Virgin Islands' history, the WMA team extended their wishes for a safe and happy Emancipation Day and Fourth of July to all residents.
