This week Viya presented 20,000 masks to three government entities: the Juan F. Luis Hospital, the Schneider Regional Medical Center and the Virgin Islands Police Department, the communications firm said Thursday.

On Tuesday, Chief Executive Officer Geraldine Pitt presented 7,500 surgical masks to JFL Acting Chief Executive Officer Dyma Williams. “On behalf of the Viya team, I would like to express our gratitude for the amazing health care professionals who care for everyone, from newborns to treasured seniors. Every day you exhibit boundless compassion and expertise and you are currently doing so while dealing with the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Ms. Pitt said. “Viya is proud to support the hospital by donating thousands of the most sought after personal protective equipment items necessary for staving off the novel coronavirus: surgical masks.”

Acting JFL CEO Williams, a registered nurse, expressed gratitude. “We thank Viya for demonstrating your care of nurses on the advent of Nursing Week, which starts tomorrow, and demonstrating your continued community support for all of our valued team members," she said.

On Wednesday, the first day of National Nurses Week, Ms. Pitt presented 7,500 masks to Interim CEO of SRMC.

“We truly appreciate first responders and medical teams who work diligently to keep our community healthy. I am thrilled to be here with you, Dr. Amaro and the staff of Roy L. Schneider Hospital on the first day of Nurses Week. We applaud all medical professionals and we take this time to show our appreciation for the nurses who are in the trenches and are being especially tested during this unprecedented health crisis. Viya is especially proud to provide critical resources to ensure that you are protected as you care for others,” the Viya CEO said.

“Thank you on behalf of the leadership team, the staff and all of the members that work for Schneider Regional. We are dedicated to serve and provide care. We are trained for this and we are definitely in gratitude for all the provisions that you and all the community partners have given to us in appreciation for what we do. We definitely acknowledge it," said Dr. Amaro.

Ms. Pitt also presented masks to the VIPD on May 6. During her presentation to VIPD Commissioner Trevor Velinor, Ms. Pitt stated, “Thank you to our courageous and dedicated law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to keep order in our society. Today, we are proud to present the VI Police Department with 5,000 masks to be used as you traverse the public sphere ensuring that the people of the Virgin Islands are safe.”

Mr. Velinor chimed in: “Ms. Pitt, Thank you so much on behalf of the Police Department, the men and women in blue, we just want to say an ecstatic ‘Thank you’. Your generosity at Viya goes a long way to support the mission of law enforcement. Our community safety is so important to us. With these masks, this will help us to continue with the tradition of serving effectively.”

“Viya is proud to salute first responders, medical professionals and law enforcement personnel who provide outstanding service on a regular basis and have performed superhuman feats during this unprecedented period in our lives,” Ms. Pitt concluded.
