Similar town hall meetings will be held on St. John and on Water Island; dates, times and locations will be announced once coordination has been finalized.

“We were happy to see so many attendees at our recent meeting and look forward to seeing many more at future meetings,” said VITEMA Director, Daryl D. Jaschen.

“The town hall meetings are only one step in creating a culture of emergency preparedness in the territory,” Mr. Jaschen said. “We recommend attendees take the information back to your homes and communities and use it to enhance your personal plans.”

The town halls provide opportunities for the community to receive first-hand disaster preparedness plans, information and tips. Staff will

also provide technical assistance with Alert VI registration and account maintenance.

Townhalls are slated for the following dates and locations:

St. Croix

  • January 27th at 6:00 p.m.: St. Croix Educational Complex Auditorium
  • January 28th at 6:00 p.m.: DC Canegata Recreational Complex and Sports Center

St. Thomas

  • February 4th at  6:00 p.m.: Ivanna Eudora Kean High School
  • February 5th at 6:00 p.m.: Charlotte Amalie High School
  • February 7th at 6:00 p.m.: University of the Virgin Islands
