The V.I. Territorial Emergency Management Agency along with VI Fire Services and the VI Department of Public Works will distribute filled sandbags for all residents from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 5, and Friday August 6, VITEMA has announced.
Residents are limited to a maximum of six filled sandbags per household, according to the release.
Locations for drive-thru distribution are:
St. Croix
- Department of Public Works (Anna’s Hope)
- Department of Public Works (Concordia West)
- Cotton Valley Fire Station
- Grove Place Fire Station
St. Thomas
- Department of Public Works (Sub Base)
- Fortuna Fire Station
- Omar Brown Sr. Fire Station (Barbel Plaza)
- Curriculum Center (Tutu)
St. John
- Coral Bay Fire Station
- Department of Public Works (Susannaberg)
Following the guidelines recommended by the VI Department of Health, all sandbags will be loaded into personal vehicles by VIFS and DPW personnel in adherence to Covid-19 protocol, VITEMA said. Masks are to be worn by all recipients.
