VIPD solar panels used to power surveillance cameras were vandalized with rocks between May 22-23, according to the police department. The panels, which were about to come online, are located in the area of the Frederiksted Pier, and Deputy St. Croix Police Chief Uston Cornelius has spoken out forcefully against the crime. VIPD Director of Communications, Glen Dratte, said a probe has been launched. "The investigation is ongoing and we're assessing evidence right now," he told the Consortium.
