ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department’s Operations and Administrative Services building in Mars Hill, Frederiksted — which includes the Records Bureau, Firearms Bureau, Permits and Police Pavilion rental — will reopen for normal in-person business hours at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, said the police department in a release.

Until such time, persons needing to file police reports in Frederiksted may continue to do so at the V.I.P.D.'s Frederiksted Bike Unit Substation located at #1 Strand Street (between Kentucky Fried Chicken and the UCA Building). The Records Bureau will continue to accept requests for police records and police reports via email at [email protected]

The V.I.P.D. said it has a certified air systems cleaning specialist, certified ventilation inspector and ventilation systems mold remediation specialist who has conducted and completed an assessment of the building. Additionally, the police department said it has several trained technicians on staff to handle environmental remediation needs according to industry-approved standards to ensure the best services for the building and occupants.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to serving you," said the V.I.P.D.
