The V.I. Port Authority has announced that its contractor, Eleven Construction, will start the reconstruction of the tender landing pier at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility in Frederiksted, St. Croix on Tuesday, May 14.

The reconstruction project will involve driving steel piles on the south side of the pier. During this period, the community may experience inconveniences such as noise, vibrations, and restricted access to the facility. VIPA and Eleven Construction will strive to minimize disruptions and complete the project promptly, the authority assured.

VIPA apologized in advance for any inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation.

Tender Pier Replacement Details

  • Previous Usage: Before its damage by two Category 5 hurricanes in 2017, the tender pier was primarily used by cruise excursions, dive boat operators, and local fishermen. It also served as an auxiliary landing for cruise passengers.
  • New Structure: Eleven Construction will build a new 80-foot-long by 50-foot-wide pier to replace the damaged structure.
