A vehicle burns inside the Kingshill Post Office gates on St. Croix early Thursday. No one was inside, and the incident may disrupt postal truck runs and mail dispatches.
ST. CROIX — A vehicle was set on fire on the grounds of the Kingshill Post Office around 4 a.m. Thursday. No one was inside the vehicle.
The Consortium has learned that the vehicle had been brought onto the post office grounds and hoisted on a jack before it was set on fire. A photograph from the scene shows the vehicle burning behind the closed entrance gate.
The fire is expected to affect early-morning postal operations at Kingshill, including the movement of postal trucks and mail dispatches.
As a result, mail movement and delivery on St. Croix may experience delays Thursday. Postal personnel were working to resume normal operations as soon as possible.
