V.I. Energy Office Launches Real-Time Energy Monitoring Program, Affording Homes, Small Businesses to Track Energy Consumption

The V.I. Energy Office has announced the start of its Real-Time Energy Monitoring Program for 2021.

This energy monitoring pilot program will give residents and small business owners an opportunity to visualize their energy usage, as well as evaluate their ENERGY STAR® product savings in real-time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Energy Office said.

By offering this pilot program, the Energy Office said it's providing a simple method for individuals to: 

  • Visualize the energy usage of their home or business in real-time
  • Better understand the daily energy profile of a home or business’s 
  • Offer residents the opportunity to validate conservative energy-efficient behaviors and investments 

 

Each household or small business has the opportunity to implement energy demand reduction initiatives and realize energy savings for their effort, said the Energy Office. A minimum of 250 applicants will receive monitors that utilizes Wi-Fi, which allows for data access via a smart phone and website portal.

Persons interested in applying can do so online through a web form, available on the Energy Office's website or Facebook page.  Paper applications will also be accepted in office or via email to the addresses below.
