To our dedicated readership, the V.I. Consortium will be down for maintenance today, Sunday, from noon through 3:00 p.m., though the website may be back online sooner.
We have rebuilt the entire site from the ground up, a project that has lasted about a year. Users won't see most of these changes as the majority of the work performed took place on the back end. The aim is to provide a more seamless experience to readers, so aesthetically the website will look the same but it will perform better.
There will be some noticeable changes, though, including the ability for readers to listen instead of reading content, an action taken for people on the go, among other subtle additions.
Also launching are redesigned apps. We purposefully have not been promoting our apps, downloaded already by nearly 10,000 people, because we were not pleased with the initial build. The redesigned apps are in the process of being relaunched on Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store in the coming days.
All these efforts are aimed at providing you, our readers, with a better experience, and the hope is that you'll enjoy this platform even more. Thank you for your support.
- Ernice Gilbert, Founder, Publisher, V.I. Consortium.
