The University of the Virgin Islands has announced that it will be hosting the 2nd Annual 13D Business Leadership Lecture at the UVI 13D Research and Strategy Innovation Center.
The lecture is scheduled for Monday, March 11, at 6 p.m. and will feature David Roberts, a leading expert in singularity and innovation.
Roberts is recognized as a significant authority on disruptive technology, innovation, and the concept of exponential leadership. His professional background includes a role as a faculty member at Singularity University, and his work is focused on leveraging technology disruption to positively impact a billion people worldwide.
In anticipation of the event, Dr. Pamela Moolenaar-Wirsiy, the dean of Innovation and Student Success and vice president of Institutional Advancement at UVI, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming lecture. "We are excited to host our second annual 13D Business Leadership Lecture and to bring to center stage singularity conceptual thinking," she said. Dr. Moolenaar-Wirsiy emphasized the event's goal to inspire radical new ideas and innovative thinking, which aligns with the mission of the 13D Innovation Center.
Roberts’s credentials include serving as vice president and director (twice) of Singularity University's Graduate Studies Program. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and has expertise in artificial intelligence and bio-computer engineering as an M.I.T. trained computer scientist and engineer. His entrepreneurial achievements include leading ventures that have received substantial investments from notable industry leaders like Kleiner Perkins, Vinod Khosla, Cisco, Oracle, Accenture, and In-Q-Tel.
The event is open to the public, including local leaders, business professionals, and students, who are all invited to attend this transformative lecture.
