The University of the Virgin Islands has announced that classes for Summer Session 2020 will be held remotely, due to the uncertainty brought on by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the university has announced.  UVI students are encouraged to register online and will be able to do all scheduled class meetings and assignments remotely.  Some courses will be entirely online and concurrent.  Classes will begin on May 18, for Summer Session I, and on June 25, for Summer Session II.

“UVI is fully operational, including support from the Center for Student Success, Access and Enrollment Services, faculty and deans,” said Dr. Camille McKayle, UVI provost and vice president for academic affairs. “Though the delivery of services may be different for what we are used to, we continue to be committed to your education, your success, and your realizing your educational goals.”

“We thank the students, faculty and staff for the flexibility and resilience displayed as the University made the move from our regularly scheduled mode of offering courses to remote learning,” said Dr. McKayle. “Though we have had experience with this type of mid-course change in the past, the effort needed to make this successful requires the recognition that we are all in this together, and that we all have to adjust.”

the university said as it extends its online/remote instructional track throughout the Summer 2020 sessions, UVI understands the delivery of our services may be unique as we remain to adhere to federal and territorial directives.
