USVI to Observe Veterans Day With Territory-Wide Motorcades

The Virgin Islands on November 8 and 11 will join the nation in honoring the service of veterans across America as a part of the annual Veterans Day celebrations, according to the V.I. Veterans Affairs office.

The following Virgin Islanders have been selected as honorees for their selfless service in their respective districts:

Oscar R. James Sr. – St. John

Romeo A. Malone – St. Thomas

Abraham Hewitt – St. Croix

The director of the Office of Veterans Affairs is extending an invitation to veterans who would like to take part using their privately-owned vehicles. In an effort to discourage and prevent mass gatherings, per Governor Bryan’s mandates, veterans will be taking part using their own vehicle. In addition to veterans, the V.A. office welcomes car clubs (i.e. bug clubs, motorcycle clubs, and or truck clubs).

Staging information for each island is as follows:

St. John - Sunday November 8th, 12 pm staging time, 1pm start time from Mongoose Junction Area

St. Croix – Wednesday November 11th , 8am staging time, 9am start time from Canegata Ballpark

St. Thomas – Wednesday November 11th, 2pm staging time, 3pm start time from the Northern end of the 4Winds Parking lot.
