ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department's Forensic/Identification Section of the Criminal Investigation Bureau has issued a critical missing person alert for 62-year-old Raymond Ward, also affectionately known as “Smiley.” Mr. Ward, a native of St. Kitts, was last seen by a family member on April 29, 2024, and has not been spotted since.
Described as a Black male with a slim build, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 147 pounds, Ward is easily recognizable by his brown and gray dreadlocks and light complexion. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, with the color and type of his shoes unknown.
Raymond Ward is known to frequent areas around Sion Farm, Sion Hill, Sion Farm Shop, and H&H Tire & Battery, as well as the Five Corners region.
Authorities urge anyone who has seen Mr. Ward or has information regarding his whereabouts to contact Officer T. Cox at the Wilbur Francis Command Police Station by calling 340-778-2211 or Officer M. Joseph at the Ancilmo Marshall Command Police Station at 340-773-2530. The public can also reach out to the 911 Emergency Call Center at 340-772-9111 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The VIPD is appealing to the community to come forward with any details that can assist in the safe return of Mr. Ward to his family.
