Unidentified Man Found Dead in Coral Bay Harbor; VIPD Investigation Underway

An unidentified man was found floating face down in Coral Bay Harbor on Sunday morning and had no vital signs after being removed by St. John Rescue, while VIPD continues efforts to identify him and determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death.

ST. JOHN — An unidentified man was recovered from Coral Bay Harbor without vital signs Sunday morning after a citizen reported seeing a body floating in the water, according to the V.I. Police Department.

VIPD was notified of the discovery at approximately 10:26 a.m. on July 12.

Responding officers met with a citizen who said they had been in the Coral Bay Harbor area when they noticed the body in the water.

Emergency responders searched the area and located an unidentified Caucasian man floating face down.

Members of St. John Rescue removed the man from the water. He had no vital signs.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
