Unidentified Body Discovered at Seaplane Terminal; Investigation Underway

The Edward Wilmoth Blyden Marine Terminal in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

ST. THOMAS — Local authorities early Wednesday morning were alerted to a tragic discovery at the Edward Wilmoth Blyden Marine Terminal, the V.I. Police Department has confirmed. According to the department, an unidentified male was found floating in the water near the seaplane dock.

The alert was initially raised by a concerned citizen who promptly contacted 911 upon discovering the body. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. However, upon arrival, the responding officers found the individual to be unresponsive.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who arrived at the scene shortly after the officers confirmed the individual had no vital signs. As of now, the identity of the male remains unknown. Additionally, the cause of death has yet to be determined and is pending an autopsy.
