ST. CROIX — An urgent announcement was made today by the V.I. Department of Education concerning an unbearable odor being emitted from smoke suspected to be from a nearby fire.
Effective immediately, students are being dismissed from John H. Woodson Junior High School.
According to the Education, the fire is not located on the school campus but in a nearby area. The department has already reached out to the V.I. Fire Service to investigate the situation, which caused smoke to spread through the campus and parking lot.
Parents are being asked to pick up their children from John H. Woodson Junior High School as soon as possible. For those unable to arrange immediate pick-up, the school will continue to provide lunch and bus services to ensure students are well taken care of.
