ST. CROIX — In preparation for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the V.I. Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for residents and visitors planning to attend the festivities in Christiansted town on Saturday, March 16.

Effective on parade day, no westward traffic will be permitted on Hospital Street towards Christiansted town from the Green Street intersection. Vehicles coming from the Gallows Bay area via Green Street will be required to turn left onto Hospital Street and proceed east towards the Bypass and Mt. Welcome traffic light to exit Christiansted Town.

Furthermore, beginning at 10:00 a.m., access to King Street and Company Street will be restricted, with all side and intersecting streets leading to King Street and Company Street being blocked off in anticipation of the parade lineup.

Parking will also be restricted in specific areas to accommodate parade activities. No parking will be allowed on King Street, from Time Square (Market Street) to the Christiansted Fort, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or until it is deemed feasible. Similarly, parking will not be permitted on Company Street, from the Christiansted Fort to Time Square, during the same hours.

Vehicles found parked in these restricted zones within the specified timeframe will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The V.I. Police Department extends its gratitude to the community for their cooperation and wishes all participants a safe and enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day parade experience.
