The last day that Virgin Islanders can register to vote in the upcoming Nov. 3 general election is October 3. The Election System of the Virgin Islands has been encouraging citizens to register as soon as possible, and the Board of Elections has been organizing voter registration drives, the latest being on St. Croix at a number of locations this upcoming Saturday and Monday.
If you wish to register to vote now, simply go to one of the Election System offices on either St. Croix, St. Thomas or St. John.
The office locations are as follows:
- St. Croix – Sunny Isles Annex, Unit 4 (adjacent to Kmart Appliances Store) St.
- Thomas– Above Banco Popular, 2nd Floor- Lockhart Garden
- St. John – Market Place Suite II, 3rd Floor
The voter registration drive on St. Croix will take place Saturday and Monday at the following locations:
- Rudolph Schulterbrandt Agriculture Grounds 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM Saturday, September 26, 2020
- Sion Farm Ballpark 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2020
Items required to register:
- Birth certificate or
- Passport (United States) or
- Military discharge form (DD214) or
- Naturalization certificate
The Board of Elections said no copied documents will be accepted. The board also encouraged adherence to Covid-19 protocols. "A face mask must always be worn," said the board. "Social distancing and other local/federal recommendations will be followed."
