The annual St. Thomas/St. John Agriculture and Food Fair, traditionally held on St. Thomas during the month of November, has been canceled due to Covid-19, the event's committee has made known.

"This decision was made as a result of concerns related to the on-going Coronavirus Pandemic," the committee said in release. "The event sponsors – the University of the Virgin Islands Cooperative Extension Service, the Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture, Fintrac, and the membership of the St. Thomas/St. John Agriculture and Food Fair Committee express their heartfelt appreciation to the vendors, patrons, and the community in general who make this family-friendly event possible each year."

In related news, the Board of Directors of the V.I. Agriculture and Food Fair announced last week that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on community health and wellbeing,  the 2021 Agriculture and Food Fair (AgriFest) has been postponed from its traditional month of February and rescheduled to the Memorial Day Weekend of 2021. The fair will take place May 29-31, according to the board.
