ST. THOMAS — In a move to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff, the V.I. Department of Health’s St. Thomas Clinic has announced a change in operational hours. Effective immediately, the clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday to Friday, until further notice.

The decision for this time modification stems from an ongoing issue at the Schneider Hospital, where an air conditioning malfunction has been causing temperatures to rise to unbearable levels. As the day progresses, conditions within the St. Thomas Clinic, which is housed within the hospital, become increasingly inhospitable, prompting the decision to limit operational hours to the cooler morning period.

Despite the heat, the St. Thomas Clinic remains committed to serving its community and ensuring the continuity of health services. The focus of the modified schedule is to continue providing quality care while prioritizing the comfort and safety of patients and staff alike.

"We understand that this change may cause some inconvenience to our patients," stated a representative from the Department of Health. "We sincerely apologize for this situation and ask for your understanding and patience as we work diligently to rectify the problem."
