The V.I. Water and Power Authority has announced that the potable water service interruption, which started on Friday, July 7 is still ongoing. The disruption is due to ongoing repairs at the Richmond pump station on the island of St. Croix, the authority said.
Water Systems Maintenance crews are on the ground working to rectify the issues with the faulty pumps at the Richmond pump station. WAPA said it has projected a completion date of Friday, July 14 for the repairs.
In the interim, residents in several areas can expect low to no water pressure. The affected areas include Princess, Orange Grove, St. John, Mon Bijou, Glynn, Colquohoun, and Grove.
The authority has expressed gratitude to the community for their understanding and patience during this period. WAPA also reassured the public that every effort is being made to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
