ST. CROIX — St. Croix Central High School will host its Scarlet Soirée Red Gala on Friday, October 23, to raise funds for student support programs, academic recognition and initiatives aimed at improving school attendance and encouraging positive behavior.
The adults-only fundraising event will begin at 7 p.m. at Starlight Lounge on St. Croix. Organizers have planned an evening featuring dinner, fire dancers, live entertainment, and live and silent auctions. Guests are encouraged to wear formal red attire.
Proceeds will benefit Central High's SPARK initiative, which stands for Support, Positivity, Achievement, Respect, and Kindness. The schoolwide program is based on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), an approach designed to improve student behavior, strengthen school culture and recognize positive achievements.
Operating under the theme “LOCKED IN: Show Up, Step Up, Level Up,” the initiative seeks to encourage students to attend school regularly, make positive decisions and take greater responsibility for their academic performance.
According to the school, proceeds from the gala will help fund the development of a SPARK Student Lounge and Rewards Store, student recognition and incentive programs, a school mascot, and faculty and staff appreciation activities.
“Every student deserves to feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. Through SPARK, we are creating a school culture where positive choices are celebrated and excellence is encouraged,” said Central High Principal Andrea Hobson.
Ms. Hobson also appealed to alumni, businesses and community organizations to support the initiative.
“But we cannot do it alone. We need our alumni, businesses, and community partners to stand with us. When you support SPARK, you're not simply purchasing a gala ticket—you're investing in a student's future,” she said.
Tickets are priced at $50 for early-bird admission and $60 at the door. VIP tickets cost $100 for individuals and $180 for couples.
The school is also accepting sponsorships and donated items for the live and silent auctions.
Those interested in purchasing tickets, sponsoring the event or making donations can contact the Central High School office at 340-778-0123 or Ruth King-Chaseau at 340-642-0523.
