The annual Governor's Christmas Party is here again, ready to bring joy to children across the territory.

This weekend, children up to 12 years old will be treated to seasonal treats, toys, giveaways, and music, plus a visit from the man of the hour – no, not Governor Bryan — Santa Claus!

The festivities begin on Friday, December 15 at the Franklin A. Powell Sr. park on St. John, from 4-6 p.m. On Saturday, December 16, the party moves to Government House on St. Croix, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. On Monday, December 18, Havensight Mall on St. Thomas will be the place to be, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Government House team kindly reminds the public that children must be present to receive their gifts, and items will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted.

On Sunday December 17, Company Street in Christiansted will host the 9th annual Christmas Downtown, hosted by Bianca Francis of Ultra Nutrition. An event "for the community by the community," according to Ms. Francis, fun for families will include toy giveaways, face painting, Moko Jumbie performances, and an opportunity to take photos with Santa. Live entertainment will be provided by a host of local bands and artists, and the celebration will run from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

To facilitate Christmas Downtown, Company Street will be closed from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. between Queen Cross and King Cross on Sunday. The market area will also be closed during this time.
